Chrismarié Moolman is a Play Therapist who offers emotional support to children from the age of two and a half years, up to 18 years, through Play Therapy. After completing her undergraduate studies, she acquired her M.Soc.Sc in Play Therapy, cum laude, at the UFS in 2005.

Her practice was established in 2005. She has two decades of experience in the field of play therapy. Her passion for people and their emotions, especially children, helped her choose this profession. She is very passionate about being a confidant for her clients and supporting him/her emotionally with compassion through therapy.

Her slogan reads: A child's primary communication medium is through playing.

Who are candidates for Play Therapy?


Children as young as two and a half years, up to 18 years old, can benefit from play therapy.

The following events can lead to emotional problems and loss of control in the child:

Poor social skills lead to repeated rejection by peers.

Adjustment problems (school, birth of a new baby in the family, relocation).

Anxiety.

Divorce / marital dysfunctions.

Loss management (death of family members).

Molestation.

Change in sleep and eating patterns (physical reasons already eliminated).

Trauma (car accident, pet accidentally killed).

Hospitalization.

Temperament differences between parents and children.

Inadequate parenting styles that give the child the message that they are not good enough.

Emotional problems of the parent, such as depression, are subconsciously taken over by the child.

The child begins to show manipulative behaviour.
